TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Both teams share the same quick turnaround but the games they are coming off are very different outcomes.
Two nights after the No. 20 Florida State men’s basketball team rallied from nine points down with 1:09 left to play to beat Virginia Tech, the Seminoles (18-7, 9-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) will play at NC State Saturday against a Wolfpack (18-8, 7-4) team that relinquished a 20-point second-half advantage before losing to No. 5 Duke, 78-73, Thursday.
The ‘Noles will travel to Raleigh, N.C. with another Michael Snaer game-winner in their rearview mirror.
And just like his first game-winning 3-pointer of the season in its upset against the Blue Devils, FSU will play its very next game in the state of North Carolina. The Seminoles defeated Wake Forest, 75-52, a few days after Snaer’s heroics and will be looking for a similar outcome when they play at the RBC Center.
In a season that has already seen them set the school record for most ACC wins in a row, a triumph against the Wolfpack would result in another record-book update.
After already beating Wake Forest, Duke and North Carolina, a win over NC State would mark the first time in program history that FSU deafeated all four of the ACC’s North Carolina teams in the same season.
A win would also give Florida State 10 ACC victories for a school-record fourth consecutive season.
