Tallahassee, Fla. – The 2004 Florida State Softball team amassed one last time Thursday night to celebrate arguably the best season in the program’s history at the Florida State Varsity Club. The casual evening included a return appearance by the most decorated female athlete ever at FSU, Jessica van der Linden, and her husband and former Seminole star linebacker, Michael Boulware.
The night started out with softball head coach Dr. JoAnne Graf recognizing the many team and individual accomplishments during the last year. She handed out awards to all players, including the Easton All-American plaques that went to van der Linden, Casey Hunter, and Veronica Wootson.
Following Graf, senior Tatiana George delivered a speech on behalf of the team while handing out gifts to the coaches. Before the night ended, Graf and associate head coach Louie Berndt distributed the MVP award, a sports action portraiture, to van der Linden.
On Saturday, Jessica will be honored at halftime of the UNC football game by USA Softball and Honda for her two national player of the year awards.
