TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The 2005-06 Florida State Men’s Basketball Media was nationally recognized for the fifth consecutive year as it was named the second best publication in the nation and the best in its district by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in the organization’s annual publication contest. It marks the fourth time in the last five years the publication has been judged to be one of the nation’s top two men’s basketball media guides in Division I-A and the fourth time in the same time span it has been judged as the best in the district.
The publication was judged as the nation’s best and voted to have the nation’s best cover in 2004. The publication has not finished below fourth in the nation in the last five years.
Associate Sports Information Director Chuck Walsh wrote and edited the publication with help from the entire full-time Seminole staff — Rob Wilson, Jeff Purinton, Tina Thomas, Elliott Finebloom, Tamara Metcalfe, Michael Smoose, Josh Weber and Maryjane Gardner – and the Seminole student staff.
The Seminole SID staff enjoyed a prosperous year as CoSida handed out their annual publication contest awards. The Florida State football media guide was judged as the nation’s fifth best (first in the district), the women’s soccer media guide placed sixth (first in the district) and the volleyball guide placed second in the district.
