TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Sun Sports and FS Florida in conjunction with Florida State University announced the television schedule for the 2009 Seminole soccer season. The two networks will combine to broadcast three games this year while featuring the Seminole Soccer team in a special `Behind the Scenes’ episode. Two of the three games will feature Atlantic Coast Conference foes while the lone non-conference match-up pits the Seminoles against the Washington State Cougars.
The Seminoles will kick-off their 2009 television debut on Sunday, September 6 as FSU will host Washington State. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. and will be shown live in the state of Florida in all non-Florida Marlins territories on Sun Sports. This marks the first meeting between the two schools.
The two remaining broadcasts will highlight ACC action with the first coming on Thursday, September 24 as Florida State welcomes Maryland to Tallahassee for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff on Sun Sports. The final televised game of the regular season features the defending national champs, the University of North Carolina on FS Florida on Thursday, October 22. The Seminoles and Tar Heels will square-off at 6:00 p.m. at the Seminole Soccer Complex. Both games against the Terrapins and the Tar Heels will air live statewide.
The special `Behind the Scenes’ episode will give fans a look inside Florida State soccer highlighting the recently renovated Mary Ann Stiles and Barry Smith Team Building along with much, much more. Fans are encouraged to check back with www.seminoles.com for specific dates and times for when the `Behind the Scenes’ episode will air this fall.
Sun Sports can be found in Tallahassee on Comcast channel 28 and nationally on DirecTV channel 653 and the Dish Network channel 422. FS Florida can be seen in Tallahassee on Comcast channel 29 and nationally on DirecTV channel 654 and Dish Network channel 423.
Florida State will open the 2009 season on Friday, August 21 against Jacksonville University at the Seminole Soccer Complex. Game time for the season opener is 7:00 p.m.
