TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced 357 members of the Men’s 2010 Division I All-Academic Track & Field Team and — like the women — six Florida State student-athletes made the list.

Gonzalo Barroilhet, Brian Chibudu, Micahel Fout, Bryan Howard, Aaron Steele and Travis Whitfield all were honored for the Seminoles.

“It’s great for us to have six men named to the All-Academic team,” FSU coach Bob Braman said. “When you count the women’s honorees we have a total of 12 for Florida State University and that puts us in the Top 5 schools in the country for track & field scholar-athletes. I couldn’t be more proud.”

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25.

They must also have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in their respective event.
