Academy Sports + Outdoors Noles In The NFL: Week 16

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Three former Seminoles were named to the Pro Bowl last week ahead of Week 16 action in the NFL. Raiders center Rodney Hudson will start for the AFC, while Falcons running back Devonta Freeman and Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes were selected for the NFC team. Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski earned spot as an AFC alternate.

On the field, a pair of defensive from FSU’s 2013 national championship team had big days, as Jalen Ramsey recorded his first career pick-six for the Jaguars, and Terrence Brooks grabbed a late interception to seal a win for the Eagles.

Philadelphia 24, New York Giants 19
Eagles: LB Nigel Bradham started and made a game-high 12 tackles. S Terrence Brooks grabbed his first career interception to seal the game late in the fourth quarter. He also forced a fumble and combined with Bradham for a special-teams tackle.
Giants: RT Bobby Hart started up front.

Miami 34, Buffalo 31 (OT)
Bills: TE Nick O’Leary started and made one tackle on special teams. CB Ronald Darby started, made five tackles and defended a pass. LS Garrison Sanborn handled long-snapping duties. QB EJ Manuel as active but did not play.

Atlanta 33, Carolina 16
Falcons: RB Devonta Freeman started, carried 13 times for 58 yards and caught eight passes for 35 yards. He also recorded a fumble recovery.
Panthers: WR Kelvin Benjamin started and caught four passes for 63 yards and a touchdown (26 yards). K Graham Gano was 3 for 3 on field goals (31, 31, 40 yards) and 1 for 1 on extra points.

Washington 41, Chicago 21
Redskins: RB Chris Thompson carried three times for 20 yards and a touchdown, and he caught one pass for 17 yards and a touchdown. K Dustin Hopkins was 5 for 5 on extra-points and 2 for 2 on field goals (20, 29 yards). LB Nick Moody was cut on Friday.
Bears: LB Christian Jones made a tackle on special teams. DT Eddie Goldman(ankle) is on injured reserve.

Cleveland 20, San Diego 17
Browns: C Cameron Erving started up front. DT Nile Lawrence-Stample(shoulder) is on injured reserve.

Green Bay 38, Minnesota 25
Packers: DT Letroy Guion started and made two tackles.
Vikings: CB Xavier Rhodes started and made seven tackles.

Jacksonville 38, Tennessee 17
Jaguars: CB Jalen Ramsey started, made an interception and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown. It was his second straight week with an interception and first pick-six. LB Telvin Smith started and made five tackles. WR Rashad Greene(Achilles) is on injured reserve.
Titans: OG Josue Matias (knee) is on injured reserve.

Patriots: OG Tre’ Jackson (knee) is on injured reserve.

Oakland 33, Indianapolis 25
Raiders: C Rodney Hudson and RT Menelik Watson each started up front. DE Mario Edwards (hip) logged his first action of the season but did record any statistics. K Sebastian Janikowski was 3 for 5 on extra points (one blocked, one wide left).
Colts: CB Patrick Robinson (groin) is on injured reserve.

San Francisco 22, Los Angeles 21
49ers: QB Christian Ponder was active but did not play. LB Cornellius Carradine was inactive.
Rams: CB Lamarcus Joyner (ankle) was inactive.

New Orleans 31, Tampa Bay 24
Saints: CB P.J. Williams (neck) is on injured reserve.
Buccaneers: QB Jameis Winston started and completed 23 of 35 passes for 277 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. K Roberto Aguayo was 1 for 1 on field goals (35 yards) and 3 for 3 on extra points. DB Javien Elliott made one tackle. RB Antone Smith (knee) is on injured reserve.

Pittsburgh 31, Baltimore 27
Steelers: LB Lawrence Timmons started and contributed 10 tackles (one for loss), one sack, one QB hurry and one forced fumble. LB Vince Williams made a tackle on special teams. RB Karlos Williams is on the practice squad.
Ravens: DT Timmy Jernigan started but did not record any statistics.

Kansas City 33, Denver 10
Chiefs: LB Terrance Smith earned his first career start and recorded one tackle.
Broncos: LB Dekoda Watson made a tackle on special teams.

Monday Night Football: Detroit at Dallas, 8:30 p.m.
