After A Rainy Start, FSU Track Competes At USA Nationals

Indianapolis, Ind. Florida State redshirt junior Garrett Johnson (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Baptist Academy) threw 66’9.25″ (20.35m) to take seventh place in the shot put on Friday, June 23, 2006 at the AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.

Junior All-American Greg Bolden (Morrow, Ga./Albany State) had the third fastest time in his heat, running 10.33 but missed the semi-finals by two-hundredths of a second.

Triple jumpers redshirt junior Alyce Williams (Palm Coast, Fla./George Mason University) jumped 41’4.25″ (12.60m) in finishing 12th while senior LaToya Legree (Lithonia, Ga./Stephenson) hit the sand in 40’2.25″ (12.25m) for 16th place. LeGree finishes in the top 20 in the nation at USAs for the second consecutive season.

Senior Rafeeq Curry (Miami, Fla./ACE Academy) takes the runway tomorrow in the triple jump while redshirt seniors Lacy Janson (Sarasota, Fla./Cardinal Mooney) and Natalie Hughes (Grand Junction, Colo./Palisade) compete tomorrow in the pole vault and 1500m.
