TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Women’s Swimming and Diving team earned more than just the honors in the pool as they have achieved an Scholar All-American status from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
“The women’s team continues to excel in the classroom,” Head Coach Neil Harper said. “They are deserving of this honor due to their dedication to academics. It’s a reflection of their commitment and sacrifice in being very successful student-athletes.”
The CSCAA recognizes institutions that have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Florida State posted a team GPA 3.2 during the fall semester.
There were 22 ladies on the team that achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher, ten made the Dean’s List and three earned grades high enough for the President’s List.
“We have always emphasized academic achievement outside the pool,” Harper added. “The women know our academic reputation when they commit and sign to swim and dive here at FSU. The entire team is proud of this achievement as each of them have contributed to the overall success of the team’s GPA.”
