Senior All-American Caroline Westrup shot a team-leading 74 and moved into a tie for 32nd place with a two-round total of 151 and the Seminoles are in a tie for 16th place in the team standings after the second round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Course. Westrup improved her first round score by three strokes and improved her placement in the individual standings by 19 spots with her performance over the second round of 18 holes.
No. 2 ranked Arizona State and No. 14 ranked Purdue are tied for first in the team standings with identical two-round team scores of 578. The Sun Devils and the Boilermakers are four strokes ahead of Arkansas with one round remaining to be played. Maria Hernandez of Purdue is in sole possession of first place with a two-day total of 139 after carding a three-under par 69 in the second round. She has a one stroke lead over Lucy Nunn of Arkansas.
Westrup was very consistent over the course of the second round. She was one-over par on both sides with one birdie, six holes of par or better and only two bogies on her front nine and eight holes of par and only one bogey on her second nine.
Sophomore Macarena Silva shot a 79 in the second round and is in a tie for 45th place with a two day total of 154. She carded a team leading three-over par score of 75 in the first round of the event.
