Tallahassee, Fla. –
Florida State’s marketing and promotions department will distribute t-shirts to each and every seat in the lower level of the Donald L. Tucker Center for Saturday night’s nationally televised men’s basketball game with Duke. The Operation Goldrush promotion is being sponsored by ALLTEL.
“The Duke game is already sold out so we are not trying to sell tickets to the game,” said FSU director of promotions Kay Scott. “We want to show support for our team and this is the first time we’ve done a promotion like this at FSU. We are encouraging everyone with a seat in the lower concourse to wear light colored clothing and to slip the t-shirt on over whatever they have so it will be wall-to-wall gold down there. We would love for fans in the upper decks to wear their gold FSU apparel as well, but we will not have enough t-shirts to fill all those seats.
“We’ve been pleased with the atmosphere at our home games and our tickets sales are good. We have fewer than 1,500 tickets remaining to the remaining games which include: North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Miami and Virginia. We think it will be a great atmosphere on Saturday.”
FSU’s marketing and promotions staff will place a single t-shirt in each of the lower level seats and a few of the other areas of the arena based on availability. T-shirts were produced in only large and extra large sizes so fans are encouraged to trade with those around them to get the proper size.
