Amanda Santos Named To AVCA East All-Region Team

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association released its 2004 AVCA All-Region Teams for Division I Thursday morning. Eight 12-team first-team selections are represented as well as six honorable mentions in each region.

Florida State senior middle blocker Amanda Santos, a native of Minas Gerais, Brazil, made her first appearance on the East All-Region team. Earlier this season, she was the lone Seminole who earned All-ACC postseason honors after being named to the first-team. She is now eligible for AVCA All-America accolades that will be announced last this
month.

Florida State ended the season with a 18-11 overall and 9-7 conference record. Santos plans to graduate in May from FSU and possibly pursue a professional volleyball career overseas.
