TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No.40 Florida State women’s tennis team will hit the road to North Carolina for a two-match swing this weekend. The Seminoles will face NC State at 12 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C on Saturday before heading over to Winston-Salem, N.C. to battle Wake Forest on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The Seminoles are coming off of a huge win against No.39 TCU, 5-2. The Seminoles came out firing in singles and clinched the match behind the racket of sophomore Ruth Seaborne. Seaborne gutted out a 5-0 deficit in the third set to comeback to take her match, 4-6,6-3, 7-5.

Florida State also took the doubles points as Seaborne teamed up with junior Francesca Segarelli to win 8-6 on court on, while junior Amy Sargeant and freshman Leyla Erkan won their match on court two 8-4.

The Wolfpack is 5-9 on this season and has yet to beat a ranked opponent, however they are 1-3 in the ACC with a victory over Wake Forest. Florida State holds the all-time series advantage at 17-4.

The Demon Deacons have three wins this year, one coming against No.34 South Florida, 6-1. The Seminoles lost at home to the Bulls earlier in the season in a close 4-3 decision. Wake Forest is also looking for their first ACC win on the season, as they’re currently 0-3. Wake Forest holds the series edge on the Seminoles at 19-12.
