Tallahassee, Fla. – Sophomore middle blocker Brianna Barry was named to the ACC All-Academic Volleyball team as released by the conference on February 8. This is the second honor for the sports management major.
“I am really honored to be on the All ACC-Academic team for the 2nd straight year,” Barry said. “As a student-athlete, being successful on and off the court has always been very important to me.”
Barry had a knock-out season in 2007, leading the Seminoles with 97 blocks in 111 games. She also ended the season ranked fourth in the ACC with a .333 hitting percentage.
The 2007 season brought new career highs in four categories for the Winter Springs, Fla., native. She posted 18 kills in 35 total attempts against Wake Forest on Sept. 30, added 21 points to the board against Miami on Oct. 23 and her three assists against Missouri State on Aug. 31 are all collegiate highs.
If Barry continues the tradition of earning All-ACC Academic honors throughout her career at Florida State, she will be only the seventh Seminole in ACC history to do so.
