DURHAM, N.C. — Wake Forest (40-21) scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to edge Florida State (49-17), 2-1, and force the Seminoles to play in a second championship game of the ACC Tournament tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.

Left-hander John Hendricks held Florida State to one run on four hits in his 10th complete game of the season. Hendricks retired the first 13 FSU batters before rightfielder Matt Diaz was hit by a pitch. He walked one and struck out four in the outing.

Right-hander Nick Stocks (6-2) struck out seven in eight-plus innings in the loss for FSU. Stocks surrendered two runs on eight hits and four walks. One of Stocks’ runs were earned.

Wake Forest third baseman Corey Slavik put the Demon Deacons ahead 1-0 with a solo home run to right field in the sixth inning.

Second baseman Brooks Badeaux was hit by a pitch to lead off the eighth inning and scored on a double to left field by centerfielder Brian Cox.

Rightfielder Ben Danosky walked to lead off the ninth inning, before he was replaced by pinch-runner Stephen Sullivan. Sullivan scored on a basehit to centerfield and error by Cox for the game-winning run.
