Baseball Sweeps West Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla. — The No. 21-ranked Florida State softball
team improved to 9-1 with a 9-3 and 10-6 sweep over West Florida late
Wednesday. The losses put West Florida’s record at 1-5.

The Tribe belted out 12 hits in game one, led by Teresa Edenfield’s
3-for-4 showing. Danielle Cox’s triple drove in two runs. Centerfielder
Dana Bailey also drove in two runs. Five of FSU’s 12 hits were extra base
hits. Stacy Venable earned her third victory of the season. The junior is
now 3-0 with the complete game.

Misty Molin drove in a game-high three runs with her 2-for-4 performance
in the second game of the doubleheader. The Lady Seminoles recorded 11
hits as Corrie Williams had two doubles and scored two runs. Freshman ace
Jennifer White improved to 5-1.

FSU will play at Florida A&M on Friday in a single game at 6 p.m.
