TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Seminole fans across the nation will have a great opportunity to watch Florida State baseball in 2012 as a total of 12 games will be carried nationally and/or regionally by ESPNU, ESPN3 and RSN (Regional Sports Network) as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
As part of the ACC’s enhanced television package with ESPN, Florida State will have four games air on ESPNU and seven more on ESPN3.
“The exposure for the Atlantic Coast Conference is outstanding,” said head coach Mike Martin. “Fans will get to tune in nationally and see just how great baseball is in the ACC. We are very excited to have this opportunity not only to showcase our team but our great league.”
Within the ACC, all three games of Virginia-Florida State (March 17-19) and Florida State-Clemson (May 12-14) will be carried via a combination of ESPNU and ESPN3.
The Seminoles and Cavaliers will kick-off the league’s baseball coverage on ESPNU with game one of the series being played at 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 17. The middle game on Sunday will air on ESPN3 at 2:00 p.m., with the series finale airing live on ESPNU on Monday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m.
ESPNU will also feature Florida State at home against Maryland on Monday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m. and then on the road at Clemson on Monday, May 14 at 6:00 p.m.
Other ESPN3 contests that will be played in Tallahassee include two games against Miami (Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21) and the lone home game against Florida on Tuesday, April 10. Road games featuring Florida State include a Saturday contest at Georgia Tech (Saturday, April 7) and the first two games of the series at Clemson (Saturday, May 12 and Sunday May 13).
Florida State will host Maryland in the ACC Game of the Week on RSN at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5.
In addition, all 13 games of the ACC Championship will be televised live for the fifth straight year. The first four days of the tournament, set for May 23 through May 27 at Greensboro, N.C.’s NewBridge Bank Park, will be carried by RSN. The championship game, scheduled for noon Sunday, May 27, will be telecast nationally on ESPN2.
RSN, which reaches up to 24 million households, includes Fox Sports South, Sun Sports, Comcast Sports Atlantic and NESN. All ACC games produced as part of the RSN package will also be available on ESPN3 in locations beyond the RSN territory.
