TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) –
Defending ACC Champion Florida State will play home and home series during the 2012-13 ACC regular season against Clemson, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia and Wake Forest, will play host to Boston College and Duke and travel to Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. The conference schedule has been expanded to 18 games for the first time with the ACC Tournament being played at the Greensboro (N.C.) Coliseum March 13-16.

The Seminoles will play in the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament with two games coming in Tallahassee and two more being played in Brooklyn, N.Y. at the Barclays Center which is the new home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets. The Seminoles are guaranteed four games in the tournament and will travel to play in the final two rounds of the event along with BYU, Notre Dame and St. Joseph’s. Also included on the Seminoles’ non-conference schedule is Minnesota (at home in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge), Florida at home and at Auburn.

The remainder of the schedule, including dates and times for the entire schedule, will be released in early September.

ACC Coach of the Year Leonard Hamilton will begin his 11th season as the Seminoles’ head coach and welcomes back four of his top five scorers including Michael Snaer – an All-ACC Second Team selection and the Most Valuable Player of the 2012 ACC Tournament which was won by the Seminoles. Florida State won 16 of its last 20 games and were ranked 10th in the final AP poll and No. 15 in the final Coaches’ poll of the 2012 season. The Seminoles led the ACC in three defensive statistical categories in 2011-12, including field goal percentage defense (.381) for an ACC-record fourth-straight year. In addition, Florida State and Duke are the only ACC teams to have 10-or-more conference wins in each of the past four seasons — over that four-year span, the Seminoles are 95-41 overall and 43-21 in league play.
