TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) — Florida State, which has four wins against nationally ranked teams this season, plays host to Pitt on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee. The Seminoles enter Sunday’s nationally televised game against the Panthers fresh from their fourth victory of the season over a nationally ranked team after an 81-79 overtime victory over Clemson on Wednesday in Tallahassee. The Seminoles have now defeated four ranked teams this season — No. 5 Florida (Dec. 4; 83-66), No. 10 North Carolina (Jan. 3; 81-80), No. 24 Miami (Jan. 27, 104-93 in overtime) and Clemson (Feb. 14, 81-79 in overtime) and have 11 wins over ranked teams in the last two seasons. Florida State defeated a school-record tying seven ranked teams during the 2016-17 season. The Seminoles’ game against Pitt on Sunday is their first (and only) game against the Panthers during the regular season. With its game against Pitt, the Seminoles will have played 13 of their 14 ACC opponents at least once this season. Following Sunday’s game against Pitt, the Seminoles will travel to play at NC State on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018. The Wolfpack are the only ACC team Florida State has yet to face this season.
HAMILTON REACHES 500 WIN PLATEAU
Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton won his 500th career game on Wednesday as the Seminoles defeated No. 11 Clemson, 81-79 in overtime, in Tallahassee. The Seminoles’ 16th year head coach became just the fifth current ACC coach with 500 victories. BACON AND ISAAC BACK FOR FLORIDA STATE’S GAME AGAINST PITT
Dwayne Bacon and Jonathan Isaac, two of the most electrifying players in school history, will be in attendance and recognized during Florida State’s game against Pitt. The pair who led the Seminoles to a 12-6 record and a second place finish in the ACC and to the NCAA Tournament in 2017, are both currently playing in the NBA – Isaac with the Orlando Magic and Bacon with the Charlotte Hornets.
FLORIDA STATE’S WINS
Florida State enters Sunday’s game against Pitt having won five of its last eight ACC games with three of those wins coming in either overtime (104-93 over Miami and 81-79 over Clemson) or double overtime (101-90 over Syracuse). The Seminoles have won a single-season school-record three ACC games in overtime this season. Florida State leads the ACC with six wins of five points or less or in overtime and have not lost an overtime game this season. The Seminoles’ school record for overtime wins in a single season is four during the 1992-93 season.
COFER LEADS FLORIDA STATE WITH 17 IN SEMINOLES’ WIN OVER CLEMSON
Senior Phil Cofer scored a team-high 17 points (all in the second half) as Florida State rallied back from an 18-point deficit to defeat Clemson, 81-79 in overtime, on Wednesday night in Tallahassee. Cofer totaled his 17 points on eight of nine shooting from the field (.889 percent) and one made 3-pont shot as Florida State outscored the Tigers by a 41-29 mark in the second half to force the overtime period. It marks the career-high 17th time the senior has scored in double figures this season.
CLOSING OUT THE CLEMSON WIN
Florida State outscored Clemson by a 52-35 margin and shot .590 percent from the field (23 of 39) in the final 23:51 of its 81-79 win over Clemson. The Seminoles tied the game for the first time with 6:59 left in the second half and took their first lead of the game with 1:06 remaining to be played in overtime.

…Defeat Pitt and earn its eighth ACC victory of the season. It would mark the school-record 10th consecutive season the Seminoles will have won at least eight ACC games;

SEMINOLES FORCE CLEMSON IN TO 21 TURNOVERS
Florida State forced Clemson in 21 turnovers and earned 29 total points off turnovers (two in the overtime period) in its 81-79 overtime win over the Tigers on Wednesday. The Tigers entered the games averaging 12.1 turnovers per game. The Seminoles forced Clemson in to 12 turnovers in the second half of their win.
SEMINOLES EARN NINE STEALS AGAINST CLEMSON
Led by two steals each by Braian Angola, Terance Mann and Mfiondu Kabengele, the Seminoles earned nine steals in their win over Clemson. It marked the eighth time this season Florida State has earned nine or more steals in a game with its ACC season-high of 11 steals coming against Miami (Jan. 7).
SEMINOLES BACK ON THE OFFENSIVE AGAINST CLEMSON
Florida State scored 81 points and shot .525 from the field in its victory over Clemson. It marked the eighth time in 14 ACC games the Seminoles have scored at least 80 points and places the Seminoles third in the ACC in scoring with an 82.8 points per game scoring average. Florida State enters Sunday’s game against Pitt as one of only five teams in the ACC, scoring an average of 80 points or more scored per game. The Seminoles totaled 41 second half points – the fourth time in ACC play they have scored 40 or more points in the second half of a game.
SEMINOLES CONTINUE TO GO TO THE BOARDS
Florida State enters Sunday’s game against Pitt with a +4.0 rebound margin and are ranked third in the ACC with a 39.0 rebounds per game average. The Seminoles have outrebounded 10 of their last 12 opponents and have not been outrebounded since Jan. 24 by Georgia Tech– a span of seven games. Despite being outrebounded by the Yellow Jackets, the Seminoles defeated their rivals from Atlanta by an 88-77 margin. The Seminoles’ win over Georgia Tech is one of two ACC games the Seminoles have won by double digits (+11 vs. Syracuse and Georgia Tech).

Florida State made five 3-point shots in its victory over Clemson and enter Sunday’s game against Pitt ranked sixth in the ACC with an 8.4 3-point shots made per game average. The Seminoles have made at least five 3-pinit shots in each of their 26 games this season.
FLORIDA STATE IN OVERTIME
Florida State is undefeated, 3-0, in its three overtime games this season. The Seminoles have defeated Syracuse (Jan. 13; 101-90), No. 24 Miami (Jan. 27; 104-93 in double overtime) and No. 11 Clemson (Feb. 14; 81-79). The Seminoles are shooting .571 (20 of 28) from the field and averaging 11.8 points in four overtime periods.
