TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State beach volleyball team will open the 2018 season ranked No. 4 in the AVCA Beach Volleyball Coaches Preseason Poll, the coaches’ association announced on Monday (Feb. 19).
The No. 4 ranking keeps the Seminoles in the same place they finished the 2017 season after advancing to the semifinal round of the NCAA Championship.
Florida State heads into its seventh season in 2018 and third as an NCAA Championship sport. The Seminoles finished as the CCSA Champions for the second year in a row in 2017, and advanced to the semifinal round of the NCAA Championship.
The Seminoles will face 15 of the 20 teams ranked in the AVCA Preseason Poll this season, including all other top-8 teams. The rankings also include CCSA conference opponents South Carolina, FIU, Georgia State, FAU and Tulane, while UAB and UNC Wilmington were among the schools receiving votes.
