Tulsa, Okla. – Sophomore Rana-Roop Singh Bhullar continued play at the ITA All-American Pre-Qualifying on Sunday. Bhullar went 4-0 over two days to advance to qualifying.
“Rana is getting stronger as the tournament goes on,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “He played physical and did not let up at all today. He was very sharp all day.”
Bhullar defeated Guillermo Cabrera of Notre Dame, 6-2, 7-6, in the round of 64 and Luis Diaz from MTSU in dominating fashion, 6-0, 6-1, in the round of 32 to make it to qualifying.
“I played tough and physical today,” said Bhullar. “I didn’t let my opponent get in much and played very detailed.”
Bhullar will be joining teammate, redshirt senior Jose Gracia in qualifying starting on Monday that goes through Tuesday. Redshirt senior Lucas Poullain and senior Guy Iradukunda begin singles play in the main draw on Oct. 5 along with the doubles pair of Gracia and Poullain.
