TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Erica Bunch was named ACC Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 12, following two strong performances in the Lady `Noles’ weekend sweep of Georgia Tech and Clemson. Bunch played in eight games, averaging 4.50 kills per game and 2.62 digs per game over the two matches.
The sophomore from Crawfordville, Fla., earns the conference accolade after playing in four games in the `Noles’ 3-1 win over Georgia Tech, followed by another four games in their 3-1 win over Clemson. Against the top-ranked Yellow Jackets, Bunch collected 20 kills with only four errors, while hitting .340 for the match. Bunch added 10 digs and 6 blocks in the Seminole-win. Bunch added to her totals in the Garnet and Gold’s final game of the regular season, as she notched 16 kills and hit .366 with 11 digs and two blocks. Over the span of the two games, Bunch hit .352 with 36 kills and 21 digs, along with 8.0 total blocks.
Bunch has played in 20 matches and 66 games this season and has notched 163 kills with 117 digs and 24 blocks. She has reached double digit kills seven times and reached the 20-kill plateau twice, including the match against Georgia Tech. She ended the season with two straight double digit kill games (16 vs. Clemson) and hit .300+ in three of her last six games, including .340 and .366 percentages to round out the season.
Bunch and the Seminoles will look to improve their 21-10, record heading into the ACC Tournament. FSU will face Duke in the opening round.
