Buy An FSU DVD And Help Support Florida’s Hurricane Victims

Sept. 9, 2004

Cincinnati, Ohio — In an effort to bring aid to the victims of the recent rash of hurricanes impacting Florida, DVD Marketing Inc. is donating to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund ten dollars for every unit sold of BCS Bowl Game commemorative DVDs that feature Florida College football teams.

The special offer is for the following DVDs: 2004 FedEx Orange Bowl (Miami Hurricanes v. Florida State Seminoles), 2002 Rose Bowl Game presented by AT&T (BCS National Championship – Miami Hurricanes v. Nebraska Cornhuskers) and the 2000 Nokia Sugar Bowl (Florida State Seminoles v. Virginia Tech Hokies).

Supporters who are interested in helping the victims of these hurricanes can order these commemorative DVDs directly from www.championshipdvd.com. Each DVD includes the television broadcast presented by ABC Sports in its entirety, commercial free, in full-screen digital video with a suggested retail price of $21.95. The hurricane relief fundraiser is the brainchild of Bill Ammerman, executive producer of DVD Marketing Inc., who hopes it will have a positive impact. “Despite the fact that we are hundreds of miles away, we wanted to be on the front lines with the American Red Cross to help victims of hurricanes Charley, Frances and possibly Ivan, by reaching out to sports fans with this special offer on our products.”

The American Red Cross notes that there is still a great need for assistance. Despite the fact that Hurricane Frances weakened slightly as it reached Florida over the Labor Day holiday weekend, the slow movement of the storm across the state and into the Gulf of Mexico and Florida panhandle compounded the adverse weather conditions with prolonged destructive wind and rain causing greater damage and flooding neighborhoods – many already battered by Hurricane Charley just a few weeks ago. The Red Cross response to Frances has been the largest pre-positioning and mobilization of resources for a natural disaster in the organization’s history.

“The impact of these back-to-back hurricanes has placed huge demands on the American Red Cross,” said Skip Seitz, Senior Vice President Growth and Integrated Development with the American Red Cross. “It is only through the generous financial support of the American public and organizations like DVD Marketing, Inc., that we can meet the urgent, critical needs of the victims of these storms.”

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need.
