Florida State’s Norisha Campbell earns this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week Honor while Blue Devil Krista Dill garners her second straight ACC Rookie of the Week honor.
Campbell, a junior middle hitter, finished the week with a .606 hitting percentage and 4.00 kills per game and marched Florida State to a 3-1 record. The Seminoles disposed of Jacksonville, Samford and Florida A&M in three straight before dropping to No. 25 Notre Dame in four.
The University City, Texas native recorded hitting percentages of .789 and .714 respectively in the matches against Jacksonville and Samford and a .636 hitting percentage against Florida A&M. Against No.25 Notre Dame she tallied 17 kills on 27 attempts for a .407 hitting percentage. In the four matches, Campbell only had nine errors to her eleven blocks.
The ACC Rookie of the Week honor is captured for the second consecutive week by Duke middle blocker Krista Dill who led the Blue Devils to a 3-1 record including a win over No. 20 Loyola Marymount. Dill posted 2.75 kills per game, 1.50 blocks per game and a .291 hitting percentage. The Newport Beach, California native had her best performance in the upset of No. 20 Loyola Marymount when she tallied 18 kills, six blocks and a. 500 hitting percentage.
