Greensboro, N.C. – Florida State senior Carrie Ellis (Valrico, Fla.) earned Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week (announced Monday, November 14). This is the first time that Ellis has earned the honor since being at Florida State.
Ellis helped lead No. 16 Florida State to three victories over weekend as the Seminoles defeated Savannah College 121-68 and New Orleans 127-67 on Friday and then beat Clemson 136-105 on Saturday. On Friday, she took fourth place in the 100 fly with a time of 59.29.
Ellis had her most impressive performance of the weekend come in the 100 free against Clemson as she swam an NCAA B qualifying standard time of 50.61. Ellis’s time was also a new record at McHugh Natatorium pool. The Valrico Fla. native also picked up two more wins as a part of the Seminoles’ 400 medley (3:48.19) and 400 free relay (3:27.80).
The Seminoles (8-0, 4-0) return to action in Atlanta, Ga. for the Georgia Tech Invitational from November 18-20.
