Tallahassee: Mr. Dix
How do you feel goin into the Regional Competion with all eyes on you?
Walter Dix: i feel confident coming back off of an injury there are always doubts but i thinks my practices have shown that i am physically ready to compete

Sonny: How are you feeling going into the NCAA’s? Are you going after any records this year?
Walter Dix: i feel bleseed that i am able to come back into form and be in good shape to still be pretty competitive at Nc’s…there one record that still lingers in my mind however is the 100 metter record so yes..

Kevin Van Auken(Des Moines, IA): Walter, I hope you enjoy success this weekend at regionals so that I have the opportunity to watch you perform at Drake Stadium in less than three weeks. What are your thoughts about possibly running in Des Moines after competing in Sacramento the last three years?
Walter Dix: i think it is a postitive thing for the sport to move these national competitions across the nation so that people everywhere are able to come in and watch top collegiate talent in person..so i am all for it..and who knows maybe in a few years it will be in tallahassee:)

Michael Wallick (Gainesville, FL): Walter,
You’re an incredible athlete with great speed, did you ever consider playing football for the garnet and gold?
Walter Dix: i did when i first got to Fsu becuase i did play in hs but my track career began to excel so i did not want to jeopardize that

Drew(Tallahassee, FL): What was one of the main reasons that you decided not to turn pro early and finish your college eligibility?…also, when your career is over and done, where (in your mind/dreams) will Walter Dix rank among the all-time greats in Track & Field?
Walter Dix: my main reason was to get my college degree…i feel like as a student-athlete that it is very important to follow the program that great universities like FSU set up for their student athletes..there is a reason that term is used and i feel by balancing what i have for the last for years will only better prepare me for my future after athletics…when i am done i want to be looked at as more as just an athlete but a admirable human being and be remembered for more than what i did on the track. the rankings will hold no standard to that.

Peggy: How do you run so fast?
Walter Dix: growing up i lived in a neighborhood with a bunch of stray dogs..so when me and my brothers would play in street we were constantly getting chased…so got alot of training at a early age ..lol..i guess.. but truly it’s god’s gift

Stephen (Iowa City): What’s your theory on the 200? Like how do you run it?
Walter Dix: i like to get out strong and have stagger on the curve..when i come on the straight i just pump my arms as fast i can

Susan (Thomasville): What kind of music do you listen to to pump you up before a race?
Walter Dix: i like to listen to a rapper named young jeezy when im warming up and another rapper named lil wayne right before i run

Jordan (Tallahassee): When you aren’t training, what kind of food do you like to eat?
Walter Dix: lol.. i like to eat salads, fruits, veggies…of course..:)
Walter Dix: thanks everybody for submitting your questions…i look forward to seeing those who are able to come to the meet this weekend…we love the support from our wonderful seminole fans….GO NOLES AND GOD BLESS
