Cloer, Mixson Advance To The Main Draw At ITA Mideast Regionals

Tallahassee, Fla.- Florida State men’s tennis has qualified six players in the main draw of the ITA Mideast Regionals in Charlottesville, Va.

Junior Chris Cloer (Brevard, N.C.) and sophomore Brad Mixson (Miami, Fla.) each won a pair of matches to earn their way into the main draw. Cloer, who was the No. 1 seed in the qualifying draw defeated Wofford’s Scott Collins 6-0, 6-1 and Elon’s Alberto Rojas 6-7(5), 6-0, 6-4 while Mixson was victorious against Georgia Tech’s Miguel Muguruza 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 and Mickael Boyer 7-5, 2-6, 7-5.

The two Seminoles join senior Sam Chang (Young-Ming, Taiwan), junior Maciek Sykut (Marathon, Fla.), sophomore Jean-Yves Aubone (Miami, Fla.) and freshman Clint Bowles (Tampa, Fla.) in the main draw.
