TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – For the second year in a row, the Florida State Women’s Basketball Team is teaming up with Samaritan’s Feet, an organization aimed to provide worthy children with a pair of shoes. Fans are encouraged to bring a `new or `slightly worn’ pair of shoes to donate to the great cause.
As a major advocate of the program, Coach Sue will coach barefoot on Thursday, January 7th at 7:00pm, against the #20 Virginia Cavaliers. Fans who bring a pair of shoes to the game can be entered into a drawing to win a pair of shoes signed by Coach Sue! At anytime, fans can also donate $5 to the cause by texting the word, “SHOES” to 85944. With over 500 pairs of shoes donated last year, the women’s basketball program looks to help even more children in need.
Samaritan’s Feet is a non-profit organization who works to provide shoes for over 300 million children currently without shoes. The organization reaches far beyond the borders of the United States and touches thousands of children throughout the World. The goal of Samaritan’s Feet is to equip 10 million impoverished children with 10 million shoes in 10 years.
