TALLAHASSEE, FL – Florida State’s Latavia Coleman earned
Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for January 3rd
after leading the women’s basketball squad to a 2-0 mark last weekend.
This marks the second time this season Coleman has garnered the honors
as she was named the conference’s first Player of the Week for the
season after scoring 32 points and adding nine rebounds in the season
opener against Tulsa.
A senior from Macon, Ga., Coleman led the Seminoles to two wins
in the Florida International Sun & Fun Classic last weekend and was
named the Most Valuable Player for the classic. She averaged 16 points
and eight rebounds in the two wins while shooting 50 percent (10-20)
from the floor and 75 percent (12-16) from the free throw line in wins
over St. John’s and Florida International. Coleman has scored in double
digits in every game this season and leads the team in scoring.
Coleman leads the team into ACC action tonight as the Seminoles
take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Winston-Salem, N.C., at 7:00pm.
