ACC Honors Roll in for Miller, White and Thomas

Seniors Okaro White and Ian Miller were honored by the 15 coaches in the ACC. Miller received ACC’s Sixth Man of the year and All-ACC Honorable Mention and White was elected to the All-ACC Defensive team. Sophomore Aaron Thomas earned All-ACC Honorable Mention. The Seminoles travel to Greensboro today to prepare for the ACC Tournament. First game for the Seminoles is Thursday at noon.

Natasha Howard Continues to Rack in Accolades

Senior Natasha Howard was named to the All-ACC First Team and ACC All-Defensive Team by the 15 coaches in the ACC. Howard’s selection to the ACC All-Defensive Team marks the second of her career, joining Brooke Wyckoff (2000-01), Alicia Gladden (2005-07) and Jacinta Monroe (2009-10) as the only Seminoles to be named twice in a career.

Diving Sends Two to NCAA Championship on First Day

Monday was the first day of Zones for the Seminoles and it was a successful one as they send Katrina Young and Ariel Rittenhouse to the NCAA Championships next week. Young placed second with a score of 619.65 and Rittenhouse followed in third with a total of 614.75. Zones continue today and tomorrow.

Track Coaches Honored by USTFCCCA

Head coach Bob Braman and assistant coach Dennis Nobles were honored on Monday. Braman received his sixth South Region Coach of the Year honor and Nobles received his third honor in four years, Assistant Coach of the Year. The track team will send 16 athletes back to New Mexico this week for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Baseball Heads to Orlando for Two

After picking up the opening ACC Series win over Maryland and moving the 12-2 on the season, the Seminoles travel to Orlando for a matchup against UCF. The Seminoles are 26-5 all time against the Knights and 5-2 in Orlando. Peter Miller will be on the mound tonight, no starter announced for tomorrow.

Softball Takes on Virginia Tech in Fort Myers

             An interesting location for the Noles and Hokies to go at it, but the two will play two today in Fort Myers. The games are slated for 5 and 7. The Seminoles will then play Florida Gulf Coast tomorrow at 7pm.

Men’s Tennis Looks to Stay Undefeated in Conference Play

             The Seminoles travel to Clemson, South Carolina for a match against the Tigers today. They will begin play at 2:30. Florida State is 1-0 in the ACC with a win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on February 22.
