Florida State Welcomes Cindy Hartmann to the Family
The Seminoles named Cindy Hartmann to their newly created position of Deputy Director of Athletics for Administration at Florida State. She comes from Duke where she has spent the last five years. Her primary role at Florida State will be human resources.
Offense on Display in Orlando
Florida State Baseball faced the Knights of UCF in the first game of a two game series in Orlando. Florida State jumped on the board quickly scoring 3 runs in the first. Florida State put up a three spot again in the 5th and 7th inning as well as tacking on 2 in the 8th to defeat the Knights 11-10. John Nogowski had the team lead with 3 RBIs while Brett Knief went 3-5 with 4 runs scored. The final game of the series is today at 4pm.
Softball Splits Doubleheader with Virginia Tech
In game one, it was the Seminoles that were dominating. They mercy ruled the Hokies in 5 innings with a score of 12-0. Maddie O’Brien went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, which marked the 14th game this season that she has driven in multiple runs. Game two was much closer as the Seminoles lost by a run, 5-4. They play tonight against Florida Gulf Coast at 7pm.
Rittenhouse Moves Up as Diving Finishes Second Day at Zones
Ariel Rittenhouse moved herself up the NCAA priority list after placing second on 3-meter dive with a final tally of 720.10. Katrina Young, who qualified Monday, finished in eighth place yesterday. Kelsey Goodman kept her name in good standings as she ended the day in ninth. The top three men for the Seminoles are Tom Neubacher (6th), Dylan Grisell (8th) and Mikey Lewark (13th). The Seminoles last chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships is today as the Zone concludes.
Sand Volleyball Takes on Defending National Champions
After starting the year 4-0, the Florida State Sand Volleyball team will head west to take on Long Beach State. The 49ers are the defending national champions. The two will face off at 4 PM EST.
