Florida State Finishes Zone B Sending Two to Nationals
It was Katrina Young and Ariel Rittenhouse that had qualified for the 2014 NCAA Championships before coming into the last day of Zones. Young then came out yesterday and won the platform event with a final score of 656.90. Young and Rittenhouse will join nine swimmers for Florida State going to the NCAA Championships next week (March 20-22).
Baseball Sweeps Series with Huge Offensive Performance
The Seminoles scored 18 runs on 18 hits against UCF en route to an 18-1 win and series sweep over the Knights. 12 players picked up a hit, include five of which had a multiple hit game. The Seminoles head back home for a three game series against NC State this weekend beginning Friday.
Softball Finishes Trip to Fort Myers with Win
Florida State finished their road trip to Fort Myers with a win over Florida Gulf Coast. They shut out the Eagles 5-0 behind another great game by Lacey Waldrop. The junior pitcher went the complete game striking out 13 and facing just four batters over the minimum. The Seminoles are back home for the first time since February 23 starting on Friday.
Sand Volleyball Picks Up Biggest Win in Program History
The Seminoles traveled west to take on the defending national champions. This was a close match against Long Beach State pulling out the 3-2 victory. It was Jace Pardon and Aurora Davis that clinched the match for the Seminoles with a two set victory. The team will stay out west to take on USC, UCLA and ULM over a two day span starting Friday.
Men’s Basketball Opens Play in ACC Tournament
Florida State opens up play in the ACC Tournament against Maryland today. This is the rubber match as the two have split the series. But this game carries much more weight as the Seminoles are fighting for a chance to get into the NCAA Tournament. Game tips at 12pm.
Track Off to Tampa
The Seminoles have sent a handful of athletes to Tampa for the Bulls Invitational to open their outdoor season. This is a two day event beginning today.
