TALLAHASSEE, FL — Florida State first-team quarterback Dan Kendra
will unergo knee surgery Thursday to repair a torn anterior cruciate
ligament suffered in Saturday’s intrasquad spring game.
Kendra, a junior from Bethlehem, PA, injured his right knee in the
third quarter of the annual garnet & gold game. He completed 11 of 25
passes for 134 yards and one touchdown before leaving the game. He had,
according to head coach Bobby Bowden, secured the first-team quarterack
position during spring drills over sophomores Chris Weinke and Marcus
Kendra will be operated on Thursday by FSU team physicians, Dr. Tom
Haney and Dr. Doug Henderson. Team physicians would ont estimate the
recovery time until results from the surgery were clear.
