Daniela Gheorghe and Amberly Tantee Fall In Doubles Flight A Semifinals At Gator Fall Classic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s women’s tennis concluded play at the 2002 Gator Fall Classic on Sunday. The duo of Amberly Tantee and Daniela Gheorghe were the only Lady Seminoles in main draw action as they played in the semifinals of the Flight A doubles on Sunday. Florida State had a strong showing in the tough tournament, but fell short in some late matches.


Tantee and Gheorghe dropped their semifinal match 4-8 to Central Florida’s Marieke Gunawan and Julie Pecastaing. The Florida State duo had won their two previous doubles matches by scores of 8-4 and 8-5 before falling in the Flight A doubles semifinals.


In the Flight A singles main back draw, Christina Denny fell to Alena Dvorakova (2-6, 5-7) in the semifinals on Sunday afternoon.


The Lady Seminoles will next compete in the ITA Regionals in Troy, AL., which begin on Thursday, October 24th.
