Das and Rahmanparast advance to the All-American Doubles Qualifying Draw

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – After two days of grueling competition, the Seminole duo of senior Ariana Rahmanparast and junior Nandini Das have advanced through pre-qualifying and into the qualifying draw of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.

Das and Rahmanparast took down Strenakova/Guinart of Oklahoma State 8-7 (8-6) in the first round on Saturday to advance in the main draw. On Sunday they had to win two matches to qualify for the doubles qualifying draw and they did just that. The Seminole duo took down Bhan/Ferarri of Columbia 8-6 in the morning. They were down 3-6 and fought back to win five straight games. They took that momentum into their final match of the weekend and defeated East Carolina’s Hofbaur/Ruiz in dominating fashion 8-2 to advance to the qualifying draw.

The pairing of senior Julia Mikulski and junior Andrea Garcia went 1-1 in doubles on the weekend.

Das went 1-1 in singles, bouncing back from a rough first match to win 6-2, 6-4 in the consolation bracket.

The qualifying draw begins on Tuesday. Das and Rahmanparast will be joined in the doubles draw by the pairing of Carla Touly and Emmanuelle Salas as well as Petra Hule and Ana Oparenovic. Oparenovic and Salas will be in the singles draw. Touly will begin singles play on October 4th in the main draw.
