TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Fans can get their first glimpse of the 2018 Seminole baseball team in a series of Garnet & Gold games on Thursday, October 12 and Friday, October 13 at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., respectively.
Florida State will also host the Ontario Blue Jays on Monday, October 16 at 3:00 p.m. in an exhibition game. All three games will be played on Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.
The Seminoles are coming off a 2017 season that sent them to the College World Series in Omaha for the 22nd time in school history. As ACC Champions, FSU was named a national host site for the 2017 NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals. FSU finished the 2017 season 46-23, the 40th consecutive season FSU has won at least 40 games.
Head coach Mike Martin enters 2018 just 32 wins from becoming college baseball’s all-time winningest coach.
First team All-American Tyler Holton leads a talented pitching staff, while J.C. Flowers and Drew Mendoza both earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors a season ago. Juniors Jackson Lueck and Cal Raleigh are among FSU’s draft-eligible players. FSU’s incoming class of 14 players was ranked as the No. 7 recruiting class in the country by Baseball America.
