CARY, N.C. – Florida State arrived in Cary on Wednesday in preparation for the 2013 Women’s College Cup. The Seminoles will face Virginia Tech in the first national semifinal on Friday, December 6 at 5 pm on ESPNU.
On the Thursday, the Seminoles hit the field for their first practice in Cary, while getting a chance to tour the game field inside WakeMed Park. The look of the stadium changed a bit since FSU’s last visit about a month ago when Florida State defeated Virginia Tech to capture its second ACC title in the last three years.
The day continued with head coach Mark Krikorian and seniors Kassey Kallman and Kelsey Wys meeting with the media during the pre-tournament press conference. The trio along with Dagny Brynjarsdottir then met with ESPNU’s broadcast crew to talk about getting to the College Cup and their upcoming match against the Hokies.
The night concluded at the Brier Creek Country Club – site of the National Championship Banquet – where all four schools were celebrated for their accomplishments this year and making it to the College Cup.
