The Seminoles defeated Boise State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Here is today’s blog and photo gallery.
Senior Keith Embree (Naples, Fla.):
What up, its Keith from the Noles men’s tennis team. It’s Saturday night and it was a successful day today for our team. We started off in the morning playing some soccer-tennis in which the Road Warrior Dynasty Team gave a tough loss to the challenged Dream Team. They played unbelievably out of their mind and we played horrible and still barely lost. That’s definitely the only way they have a chance but it won’t happen again. Later that day we took out Boise State 4-0 but the score was deceiving because it was a very close match. We have UGA tomorrow in which we are the underdogs. As long as we stay tough and fight then you never know what can happen. I have to rest my hands up for the clapping and ice the elbow joint for the Nole chop I’ll be doing tomorrow in the stands. And hopefully me and Ol’ Shoot (Owen Long) can help will the guys towards a win tomorrow. Well anyways, we all need to rest up and get a big win in soccer tennis, and more importantly against UGA tomorrow.
Over and Out,
Junior Clint Bowles (Tampa, Fla.):
Hello everyone, Clint Bowles here with your daily blog. We had a great day today by winning our first round in Athens. We won 4-0 against Bosie State. We started off strong by taking the doubles point. To follow the doubles point, Jean-Yves, myself and the Kiwi (Jordan) all won singles. I would like to congratulate Jordan on clinching the match. I also want to congratulate the Road Warriors on our tennis soccer victory today; we owned them big time today.
Following the match, we did a team stretch lead by our Athletic Trainer, Adrian. After the team stretch, we did a team ice bath for about 15 minutes. After the painful ice bath, we headed back to the hotel for a quick shower. We ate dinner at this local Italian restaurant called De Palmas, it was great food.
Tomorrow we have a huge match against the University of Georgia. It is going to be a very tough match tomorrow; we will need to play our best to win. We play at 2 PM tomorrow and will warm up with a game of tennis soccer. I expect the Road Warriors to win tomorrow!
Sophomore Owen Long (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Hello World, we are here in Athens on day three. Today was a successful day at the courts as we defeated a very good Boise State team. We started off the day by getting an early start with breakfast at the hotel then we headed to the courts for a light hit before our upcoming match. It’s very hot here in Athens so we decided to cancel our prematch warm up with a game of soccer which the Rroad Warriors were happy because they did not want to get defeated back to back days. After we got done with a short practice we came back to the hotel to relax and eat some lunch before our first round the NCAA tournament.
Boise State was a very solid team with a bunch of big serving guys. Anderson and Jordan got off to a quick start and finished their match off well by winning 8-6. Connor and Vahid clinched the doubles point giving us an edge going into singles. With it being hot we knew we needed a quick start and JY provided it for us by getting the first victory for us followed by Clint and Jordan clinching the match at 4-0. After the match everyone treated their bodies and began preparing for the next day. We headed back to the hotel and then walked downtown to a great Italian restaurant. Ending the night with team meetings we are looking to get well rested tonight to face a very good Georgia team tomorrow afternoon. Everyone is excited to get out there and play tomorrow in a great environment. We are anticipating a huge crowd filled with Georgia fans and hopefully a fair share of Nole fans as well. It’s time now for me to go get in my daily use of facebook. Go Noles.
