TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Nigel “Big Jelly” Dixon, Florida State’s
335-pound junior center, scored a career-high 28 points Friday to lead the

with 17 in the second half. He shot 13-of-18 from the field and grabbed a
game-high eight rebounds.

86-54 with 1:54 left in the game.

Elon (2-2) was led by Steven Harvin and Quinton McCleod, who each scored 10
points. The Phoenix, who are hoping to improve on a 9-20 record a year ago,
shot 42.6 percent from the field and were outmatched in rebounding where the
taller, heavier Seminoles enjoyed a 50-30 advantage.

Antwuan Dixon, who is not related to Nigel Dixon, added 14 points for
Florida State while freshman Anthony Richardson chipped in with 13 and Monte
Cummings had 10.
