Donaldson Leads Florida State At Seminole Intercollegiate Men’s Golf Tournament

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Florida State senior Mark Donaldson is tied for eighth and the Seminole men’s golf team is tied for sixth in the team standings after the first day of competition at the seventh annual Seminole Intercollegiate at the Golden Eagle Golf Tournament. The first two rounds were played on Tuesday and the final round is scheduled for Wednesday.


The University of Virginia leads the two-day three round event at the 72, 6869-yard Golden Eagle course with a total two round score of 573. The Cavaliers are paced by overall leader Steve Marino who finished the day at six-under-par with rounds of 70 and 68. Marino’s teammate, Cavalier Rusty Kennedy, is tied for third coming in with a 143. College of Charleston finished the day in fourth, fourteen strokes off the lead at 587 followed by the University of Alabama-Birmingham at 588. Duke University is in fifth place 22 strokes off the lead at 595.


Donaldson shot a blistering one-under par 71in the first round and finished with a two-over par 146 two-round total. He begins play on Wednesday only six stroke off the pace set by Marino of Virginia.
