ATHENS, Ga. – The NCAA announced the 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Singles Championship draws on Tuesday, and No. 38 sophomore Aziz Dougaz will play in first round on Wednesday May 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Dougaz will face No. 55 Yuya Ito of Texas in his first career NCAA Singles Championship appearance, the first time a Seminole has faced a Longhorn since the 2015 ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
Dougaz holds an 11-9 record in in singles on the season, including five ranked wins over the No. 2, 10, 63, 67, and 109 ranked singles players in the nation. Dougaz’s participation the in the tournament marks the third consecutive season that Florida State will be represented, following Benjamin Lock and Marco Nunez‘s consecutive appearances each of the previous two seasons.
Play will continue through the championship round held on May 29.
