TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Junior Jordan Kelly-Houston (Christchurch, New Zealand) and freshman Cristian Gonzalez Mendez (Santiago de Compostela, Spain) will be competing Monday, October 3 at the ITA All-American Championships in the singles and doubles qualifying rounds. The tournament is being hosted at the University of Tulsa where more than 300 players are competing for the first national title of the 2011-12 tennis season.
“It’s great that Jordan and Cristian got in qualifying,” continued Hultquist. “Starting on Monday it’s tough, you’ve got to win three really good rounds. It’s a great opportunity for both of them to see if they can make it into the elite of college tennis, the top 64 in the country.
“I’m looking forward to All-Americans,” concluded Kelly-Houston. “It’s the best kids in the country and it will be a good representation of where I’m at. It’s really good match play for me and Cristian.”
