Eight Tracksters Gain Valuable Experience At Troy State

Troy, Ala.- Coach Scott Irving sent eight of his runners, three lady
Seminoles and five Seminoles, to Alabama for the Troy State Invitational
this past weekend to gain more experience. The women’s team was led by
freshman Brandi Rook and freshman Ryan Hicks led the men?s team.

In the women?s 3,200 meter run, out of 53 runners freshman Brandi
Rook took 31st place with a time of 12:30. Rook was followed by junior
Melissa Lyons in 43rd place with a time of 13:32. Right behind Lyons in
44th place with a time of 13:34 was Lady Seminole Mizar Aleman.

In a field of 51 runners in the men?s 5,000 meter race, freshman
Ryan Hicks took 14th place with a time of 16:19. Following Hicks was
junior Brady Thomas in 31st place with a time of 16:47 and freshman Eric
Ritchson in 32nd place with a time of 16:48. Not far behind was freshman
Nathan Adams in 34th place with a time of 16:49. Freshman Nathan Timm came
in 40th place with a time of 17:05.

The next meet for FSU will be the ACC Championships on November 1st
at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
