Seminole sophomore Everette Brown was named the ACC’s Community Service Award Honoree last week. The defensive end was named this week’s recipient of the award by Lincoln Financial Sports at halftime of the Virginia Tech/Duke game.

Brown is one of the Seminole’s most active members when it comes to community service. The North Carolina native visited the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Summer Camp in Port St. Joe over the summer. He has volunteered his time with Relay for Life, FCAT Rallies and Red Ribbon Week, educating students about the dangers of drugs.

Brown is also in the midst of a breakout season on the field. The lineman has recorded a sack in four straight games and leads the team in that category with five. He also has eight tackles for loss and has forced a fumble.
