Indoor Tennis Facility Court Policies

  • Only Tennis specific shoes are permitted on courts. RUNNING, CROSS TRAINING OR OTHER TYPES OF SHOES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE COURT. The Court Supervisor reserves the right to refuse court usage if a player does not have appropriate court shoes. A refund will not be given for incorrect shoes.
  • All lessons and instructions are to be approved by FSU Facilities and Events Staff. 
  • Court # 6 is available for reservations, however if a member of the Men’s or Women’s FSU team request to play, you may be asked to switch to a different court. 
  • Only individuals playing tennis are permitted on the courts. All spectators are to stay in the lobby or seating area at the end of courts 5 and 6. 
  • All court use for leagues, tournaments, and special events must be approved FSU Facilities and Events Staff. 
  • The Florida State University holds no responsibility for injuries, accidents, or lost or stolen articles. 

Player Etiquette

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all we ask players to observe to the following:

  • All players are required to register and pay appropriate fees with the Court Supervisor at the beginning of each play period. 
  • Players are to access courts by walking behind the garnet curtain and enter their assigned court only. 
  • Players should show courtesy to players on other courts. Do not cross through courts during play. 
  • Cursing, yelling, racquet throwing, abuse to court surface, walls, or ceiling will not be tolerated. 
  • The deliberate hitting of balls at the ceiling, wall, curtains, light fixtures, and clocks is prohibited 
  • To ensure safety, players are not permitted to sit, stand or climb in umpire chairs. 
  • Tennis attire is to be worn while on court. No clothing should impede play. 

Etiquette and Guidelines for Children

Staff and coaches must monitor younger players when they come into the facility. It is the staff’s responsibility to properly and professionally enforce our policies when needed.

  • Children are not permitted on the courts unless playing tennis. 
  • Children under the age of 12 are not permitted at the tennis facility unless playing and accompanied by an adult age 18 or above. 
  • Children waiting in the lobby must be actively supervised by a non-playing adult age 18 or above. 
  • Children are not permitted behind the garnet screen at the end of the courts while parent(s) or guardian(s) are playing. 

Non Players/Spectators Etiquette

  • Non players are not permitted on the courts at any time. 
  • Only individuals playing tennis are permitted on the courts. All spectators are to stay in the lobby or seating area at the end of courts 5 and 6. 
  • Spectating is not permitted behind the garnet screen at the end of the courts.
