TORONTO, Ont. – Florida State rising sophomore diver Aidan Faminoff competed in the finals of the men’s 10-meter platform at the Canadian Summer Nationals on Sunday at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.
“We’re excited to have Aidan returning for next season,” FSU head diving coach John Proctor said.
“He did a great job for his first meet back home since coming to FSU.” In prelims, Faminoff scored 362.00 for fifth place behind dives that scored between 5.5-7.5. His toughest dives were his best, which were the final two of the round. His forward 3 1/2 somersault Pike scored 64.50 just before he closed out with a 62.40-scoring inward 3 1/2 somersault tuck.
Faminoff slipped to ninth in finals with a total of 325.60, however he saved his best dive for last, scoring 8.0’s on his inward 3 1/2 somersault tuck for a total of 75.20.
Rising senior Tyler Roberge also competed in the men’s 3-meter springboard. He finished 15th with a score of 301.95.
Members of the Florida State swimming teams will next be in action at the World Championship Trials, which will be held in Indianapolis, Ind. from June 27-July 1.
