TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State women’s basketball team
will host the Mississippi All Stars in its first exhibition game of the
1999-2000 season on Saturday, November 6th at 7 p.m. at the Tallahassee
Leon County Civic Center.
Florida State returns eight letterwinners from the 1998-99 squad
and welcomes five newcomers, who together, comprised the No. 8
recruiting class in the nation last year.
The game will mark the return of leading scorer and lone senior
Latavia Coleman, who was averaging 20.8 points through the first 10
games of last year before suffering a season-ending knee injury on
December 26th. The Seminoles will, however, be without junior starter
Brooke Wyckoff, who broke the pinky finger on her right hand on Thursday
in practice and had pins surgically placed on Friday to repair the
injury. The West Chester, Ohio, native will be held out of action for
at least three weeks while the finger sets.
The Seminoles went 1-1 in exhibition action last year, defeating
the Mexican National Team, 101-73, and falling to Athletes in Action,
