GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Florida State Seminole softball team swept the weekly ACC honors for the second-straight week as Brandi Stuart was named the ACC Player of the Week and Leslie Malerich earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second week in a row and the sixth time this season as the duo led FSU to a 4-0 record last week including a pair of wins over 24th-ranked East Carolina.

Stuart, a native of Cerritos, Calif., was the offensive standout for the Seminoles this past week, posting a .583 batting average by going 7-for-12 at the dish in four games. The rookie started off the weekend by going 3-for-3 in the first game of a doubleheader with #24 East Carolina including scoring the game’s only run, as FSU picked up the 1-0 victory. On Saturday, in FSU’s second game against Campbell, Stuart was again perfect at the plate as she went 2-for-2 with two runs scored in a 9-1 Seminole win. For the week, she finished with a slugging percentage of .833 and an on-base percentage of .615.

Malerich, a native of Merrillville, Ind., continued her string of impressive outings on the hill for the Seminoles, as she tossed a pair of complete-game shutouts against 24th-ranked East Carolina on Friday. In the first game of the doubleheader, Malerich allowed only three hits and struck out five in picking up the 1-0 win. In the nightcap, the sophomore hurler was equally as stellar, allowing only two hits and striking out three in another complete-game effort in FSU’s 7-0 win. In the two East Carolina outings, all five of the hits allowed by the righthander were singles. On the year, Malerich’s record stands at 26-13 with a 1.13 ERA.
