Florida State at Maryland Football to be on TV

September 24, 1998

ORLANDO, Fla.— Sunshine Network and Florida State University today
announced that the Florida State at Maryland college football game on
October 3 (1 pm) will be made available live via pay-per-view (PPV) to
viewers of participating cable systems and commercial establishments
throughout Florida.

The live PPV airing will be in addition to Sunshine Network’s taped
presentation of the game airing statewide on the regional network Sunday,
October 4, at 7 p.m. (ET). In addition, WCTV-TV, Channel 6, in Tallahassee
will air the game on same-day tape delay Saturday, October 3, at 11:35 p.m.
Mike Goldberg and Keith Jones call the action.

Per Atlantic Coast Conference television contracts, when an ACC
team does not have its game selected by ABC, ESPN or Jefferson-Pilot, it is
permitted to televise that game live on a statewide basis only on
pay-per-view.

The game will be offered, through Sunshine Network, to cable
systems throughout the state and distributed to individual subscribers at a
suggested retail price of $19.95 in advance and $24.95 on game day. Cable
systems electing to offer the game on pay-per-view will designate a channel
location, separate from Sunshine Network’s channel, for the pay-per-view
presentation. Interested viewers should call their local cable company for
further details.

This season, when games such as the Duke and Maryland contests are
offered live on PPV in Florida, they are in addition to Sunshine Network’s
taped coverage of six FSU homes games (including Duke) and the game at
Maryland, which air statewide on Sunshine Network.
