Florida State has won six consecutive games, dating back to February 24th. The Seminoles are in the middle of an 11-game home stand and will open ACC play this weekend against Virginia after a pair of mid-week games against St. Joseph’s. John-Ford Griffin (LF) is riding a 10-game hitting streak and he continues to lead the team with a .489 batting average and an RBI total of 19. Chris Cole (DH) hit a pair of home runs in Sunday’s win over Michigan State and is tied with Griffin for second in homers with three. Ryan Barthelemy’s numbers have steadily increased since he has moved back to first base. His batting average, which was .111after five games at third base to start the season, is now up to .272. The junior leads the team with four home runs. Game time has been moved up to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
ST. JOSEPH’S (1-7)
St. Joseph’s is 1-7 after dropping three games to Central Florida. The Hawks will start LHP Eric Wyatt (1-0, 3.00 ERA), who was the winning pitcher in St. Joseph’s only victory of the season, a 13-5 win over Drexel.
Florida State leads the all-time series 7-0, dating back to 1972. FSU played St. Joseph’s once last year, with the Seminoles winning 15-2 in a neutral site game in Daytona Beach.
