#13 FLORIDA STATE (3-4)
The Seminoles check in at No. 13 this week in Baseball America’s poll after splitting with Florida in Tallahassee last weekend. FSU cruised to its sixth straight victory over UF with a 19-6 win on Saturday, then dropped Sunday’s game by a score of 6-5. RF Nick Rogers (.444, 3 Runs, 5 RBI) and CF Karl Jernigan (.500, 4 Runs, 2 RBI) led the Seminoles at the plate in last week’s series against Florida. Last weekend was the first time this season both have been in the lineup at the same time due to injuries. FSU will send junior RHP Blair Varnes (1-1, 5.52 ERA) to the mound on Saturday with LHP Matt Lynch (0-1, 5.54 ERA) scheduled to start Sunday.
#20 FLORIDA (4-6)
The Gators lost Tuesday (11-7) and Wenesday (14-5) to Winthrop to drop to 4-6 on the season. Third baseman Pat Osborn (.409, 2 HR, 10 RBI) and first baseman Ryan Shealy (.359, 3 HR, 14 RBI) lead the team offensively. Florida is scheduled to start RHP Joey Simon (2-2, 6.75 ERA) on Saturday and LHP Robbie Wells (0-0, 4.32 ERA) on Sunday.
Florida State leads the all-time series 102-82, which dates back to 1956. The Seminoles swept the Gators in the four-game series last year for the first time since 1993, winning 15-6 and 17-8 in Gainesville and 6-2 and 8-7 in Tallahassee. FSU has won six of the last seven after splitting with UF last weekend. Mike Martin is 48-37 all-time against Florida.

Saturday’s game will be televised by Sunshine at 4:00 p.m. with Larry Vettel (play-by-play) and Nick Belmonte (color) providing the commentary.
